Introduction to the Natural Gas Industry, Infrastructure & Regulations (virtual)

Course Overview

This course will cover the natural gas supply chain from wellhead to burner tip. Students will gain an understanding of natural gas drilling/fracking, gathering, processing plants, pipelines, storage, LNG peak shaving plants, LNG Import and Export terminals, and local gas distribution companies (LDCs). The instructor will discuss the role of new regulations on the natural gas industry and how firm and interruptible pipeline transportation, nominations, balancing, and US LNG exports and the Russo-Ukrainian War will affect US natural gas supplies. Finally, the course will provide an overview of the growth renewable natural gas, hydrogen and responsibly sourced gas. Click here to register!


Who Should Attend?

Anyone who need a solid understanding of natural gas infrastructure, supplies, delivery and storage that affect power generation and heating customers. Also, a great refresher for those wanting to review current issues and trends affecting natural gas infrastructure, supplies and prices. The course is a prerequisite to understanding how natural gas prices are formed and traded which is covered in Physical & Financial Natural Gas Markets (see October 2021 offering)
