Gas Seminar: The Russia-Ukraine War's Effects on Shale Gas Supplies, LNG Exports, and Prices in Southern California (virtual)
Course Overview
The era of low US natural gas prices caused by the Shale Revolution may be over. US natural gas prices are increasing and influenced by the Russian-Ukraine War. Europe is taking steps to reduce its dependency on Russian natural gas by buying US LNG with the encouragement of the Biden Administration. In combination with higher LNG exports, capital constraints, and new methane reduction regulations on the oil and gas industry, the war will affect shale gas production, pipeline flows, and prices in SoCal.
This seminar will focus on natural gas shale production areas and pipeline flows that will affect SoCal supplies and prices. The instructor will discuss the increase in US LNG Exports caused by the Russia-Ukrainian War, and LNG exports from Baja California and BC, Canada, will also affect SoCal users. The instructor will also discuss strategies and tactics to hedge natural gas supplies and prices physically and financially.
Anyone who needs to plan, schedule, and procure natural gas is interested in how global events affect US natural gas supplies and prices. Attendees should have an essential background in natural gas infrastructure, pricing, and hedging from experience or other courses.
