Kate Leese, Managing Partner, Kinetics Consulting
Kate is an active champion for emergency preparedness, resilience management, and process improvement in the utility sector. Currently, she is a Managing Partner of the Kinetics Company, an emergency preparedness and change management consulting firm that helps utilities improve their operations by navigating the challenges of institutional knowledge transfer and enabling teams to act confidently and strategically when responding to storms and incidents. As a results-driven professional and skilled facilitator, she has educated personnel from hundreds of utilities, written emergency operations plans for several million+ customer service territories, developed public power industry guidance documents, and educated dozens of utility CEOs, executives, and board directors. Kate specializes in bringing together diverse stakeholder groups to solve problems and craft new processes for utilities facing a changing operational landscape. Previously she served as Public Safety Director and Emergency Manager for a combination gas and electric utility serving nearly 7 million residents; overseeing emergency preparedness, public safety, business continuity, and emergency official coordination.
